I have been in love with fashion for as long as I can remember. In elementary school, I wanted to be a fashion designer. My big sister even bought me a sowing machine that was the cutest color blue. I fell in love. I shared my love for fashion and sowed a a floral dress that I forced my little sister to wear because I made it too small for myself. There’s a picture somewhere out there of my cute little sister in that floral dress.
My journey with thrifting goes farther back than the start of my sustainability and minimalism journey. I got into thrifting because my big sister showed me it was a cheap way to expand my wardrobe and at the same time get unique clothes. However shopping at second-hand stores just used to be something I did every once in a while, now my approach to thrifting has completely changed.
Now the thrift store is the first thing that comes to mind when I am looking for something.. I thrift alone or with friends for clothes or home decor. It’s a wide array. Lately, I have been hitting gold! So much that for my white wedding this month I went thrifting for my new obsession for this spring season. I found these great additions to my wardrobe from Plato’s Closet and Goodwill. Now I won’t waste another second to show you all these dresses and share some rather exciting news with you all.

Grey dress ($5.99)
There’s a moment in my thrifting experience where minimalism intertwines. Basically what happens is every other week or so I clean throughout my apartment to see if there are things I need to donate or sell. Once I find things I want to donate I go to my local Goodwill or Savers store, drop of my donation, and get a 25% coupon from Goodwill or a stamp on a Savers punch card to eventually get a store discount. It’s a great way to get a reward for getting things out of your home, helping a charitable cause, and getting a discount as you support the store a second way by shopping for things you actually need.
